On the afternoon of November 2, SIG held a Party committee meeting to study the Constitution of the Communist Party of China newly revised at the 20th CPC National Congress. Yu Beihua, Secretary of the CPC SIG Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors, presided over the meeting, and members of the CPC SIG Committee attended the meeting. Also present were the Deputy Head of the 8th Inspection Team of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and the Chief Operation Officer of SIG.

The attendees exchanged their experience of studying the Party Constitution newly revised at the 20th CPC National Congress based on respective facts. In the discussion, they agreed that the revision is of far-reaching significance. The new version wrote into the Party Constitution the new development of Xi Jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era since the 19th CPC National Congress, the Party's original mission, the Party's major achievements and historical experience over the past century, the goal of building a modern socialist country in all respects and advancing the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization, the major theoretical views and strategic ideas established in the report to the 20th CPC National Congress, as well as the new experience of the CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping at its core in upholding the Party's overall leadership and strengthening Party building since the 19th CPC National Congress. It fully reflected the new achievements in adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of our times, fully reflected the new ideas, new thinking and new strategies on national governance put forward by the CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping at its core since the 19th CPC National Congress, and made clear the new requirements for upholding and strengthening the Party's leadership and advancing full and rigorous Party self-governance under the new situation.

The attendees agreed that the Party Constitution is the general constitution of the Party, as well as the crystallization of the Party's theories and practices. 50 changes were made to the Party Constitution, some of which are only textual adjustments but are of great significance. The new version pools the wisdom of the whole Party, builds broad consensus in the Party, and provides a new guide for regulating the behavior of Party organizations and Party members at all levels and guiding Party building. SIG's Party organizations at all levels should organize Party members to seriously study the original text of the Party Constitution, fully understand the importance of studying and implementing the new version, and study, observe, implement and uphold in more consciously.

The attendees said, as studying the Party Constitution is a prolonged process, they should study it persistently, systematically and thoroughly base on facts, to grasp its rich connotation, spiritual essence and fundamental requirements. Party members and officials should play an exemplary role, take the lead in studying, venerating and observing the Constitution, regulate words and deeds, and guide work in strict accordance with the provisions and requirements of the Constitution, constantly enhance the consciousness of maintaining political integrity, thinking in big-picture terms, following the core of leadership and keeping in alignment with the central Party leadership, stay confident in the path, theory, system and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and uphold General Secretary Xi Jinping's core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole.
